A key component of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain. There is no drug applied, but rather it is the needles themselves that provide the stimulation necessary to achieve the beneficial results of the treatment. Each acupuncture treatment is tailored to your specific condition and in a typical session, you can expect the needles to be left in place for 15 to 30 minutes. Registered acupuncturist can design integrative, multidisciplinary treatment plans tailored to your individual needs, using a variety of therapies in order to achieve optimal results. Common side effects include soreness and minor bleeding or bruising where the needles were inserted. Single-use, disposable needles are now the practice standard, so the risk of infection is minimal.

Reiki combines the Japanese and Chinese word-characters of "rei" (spiritual or supernatural) and "ki" (vital energy). One of the basic ideas held by those who practice Reiki is that this vital energy can be channeled to support the body's natural ability to heal itself.

While this may sound like voodoo magic to some, even nonbelievers who have spent an hour with a skilled Reiki master (as they’re called) have felt a positive shift of some sort. Many describe Reiki sessions—a combination of light touch and above-the-body energy sweeping—as calming or grounding. And for others, it feels more like an emotional realignment.

Some of the many health benefits of having regular Reiki sessions include:
Bring on a deep meditative state
Foster tissue and bone healing after injury or surgery
Stimulate your body’s immune system
Promote natural self-healing
Relive pain and tension
Support the wellbeing of people receiving traditional medical treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, surgery and kidney dialysis.

Osteopathic medicine is based on the premise that the body is a unit and that all its parts are interconnected. Osteopathic manipulative treatment is a hands-on approach to diagnosing and treating illness and/or injury. For example, if you have a headache, they may look for restrictions in your neck and upper back. Or, if you have a stomach ache, they may check for restrictions in your lower back and pelvis.
